IntelliTect Presents at the Seattle Code Camp 2012
Asynchronous Programming with C# 5.0 – Mark Michaelis
In C# 5.0 there is really only one significant syntax addition – support for asynchronous programming that is embedded into the language. In this session we go over the is and is-nots of what C# 5.0 enables in the way of parallel processing – both for the UI and for the server tier. Don’t miss this session to learn not only the fundamental syntax but also the best practices and scenarios of what the async keyword enables.
PowerShell for Developers – Mark Michaelis & Ian Davis:
Are you a .NET developer with vast years of experience with the .NET API but still stuck writing command line scripts as batch files? Are you frustrated by your inability to leverage .NET without defining a class library and executing the compile to create a simple executable? Attend this session to learn the “power” of PowerShell, how to leverage it in your daily development practices, and to familiarize yourself with the vast resources, tools, and extensions that make PowerShell a must have tool for every developer.
Accelerating Your Development Workflow – Ian Davis:
As programmers, we’re constantly battling against interruption, trying to stay in a groove. Meetings, office chatter, bureaucracy and more all stand in our way creating waste. Many of us have done Test-Driven Development (TDD) or something close to it in an effort to be more productive. However, most of us, in our daily workflow, have missed the elephant in the room. Whether by conditioning or obedience to dogma, our workflows will blind us if we don’t challenge them.
